Charges – Domestic violence – Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have charged a 31-year-old man after a domestic violence assault in Tennant Creek overnight.

The man allegedly assaulted his 28-year-old female partner with a knife at a residence in Kargaru Camp, Tennant Creek. The victim received a number of lacerations to her chest and arms and was conveyed to Tennant Creek Hospital in a serious condition. The offender fled the location before emergency services arrived.

Around 7am, police arrested the 31-year-old near the scene. He has been charged with:

  • Recklessly endanger life
  • Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • Possess/carry/use controlled weapon at night

He was remanded to appear in Tennant Creek Local Court tomorrow.

Investigations remain ongoing and the victim remains in hospital receiving treatment.
