Charges – Domestic violence – Moulden

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to an aggravated assault in Moulden last week.

On Friday 20 January 2023, a 25-year-old man allegedly assaulted his 24-year-old female partner with a weapon at the corner of Bombax Street and Kafcaloudes Circuit, Moulden.

The woman received a serious laceration to her right arm and extensive bruising and abrasions to her upper body.

Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Unit responded and the man handed himself into police the next day.

He has since been charged with:

•          Recklessly endangering serious harm

•          Aggravated assault

•          Breach Domestic Violence Order

•          Breach Bail

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said “This was an extremely violent assault and any form of violence is completely unacceptable in our community. Police have zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour”.
