Northern Territory Police have charged a man for multiple domestic violence incidents around Darwin and Palmerston.

On 29 March 2023, the 26-year-old man allegedly assaulted his 21-year-old female partner in a park in Driver. The victim received a large laceration to her head, requiring surgery.

The offender fled the scene and began actively evading police.

On the evening of 17 April 2023, the offender located the victim at a residence in Nightcliff and allegedly assaulted her with a pair of scissors. The victim suffered a deep chest wound, requiring surgery.

On 22 April, detectives from Strike Force Trident and the Dog Operations Unit arrested the man at a location in Parap. Investigators from the Domestic and Family Violence Unit have since charged him with:

  • 2 x Breach DVO
  • 1 x Aggravated Assault
  • 1 x Threat to kill a person
  • 1 x Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • 1 x Breach of bail

He has been remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 7 June 2023.
