Northern Territory Police have arrested 2 males in relation to a violent incident at the Palmerston Bus Exchange on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:30pm, police received reports that 2 males, aged 16 and 26, had assaulted a group of 5 males at the Palmerston Bus Exchange with a metal pole and a machete.
A 24-year-old male suffered head injuries during the assault and was treated in hospital for a laceration to his ear.
Security officers later seized a guitar case in the area that contained numerous weapons believed to be used in the fighting.
The 26-year-old was later charged with aggravated assault and going armed in public and has been remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
The 16-year-old was released pending further investigations.
Senior Sergeant Siiri Tennosaar said “ I would like to commend the work of the CCTV Operators who identified the offenders and the general duties officers who quickly responded, along with the security officers who assisted.
“There is no place for this sort of violence, particularly with weapons, within our community.”
