Northern Territory Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a woman that occurred on Wednesday evening.

The incident was reported to police the following day. Detectives from Criminal Investigation Branch have been following up on inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage; however, attempts to identify the individual involved have been unsuccessful.

Police are seeking public assistance and would like to speak to anyone travelling on the Stuart Highway on Wednesday 26 April 2023, between Smith Street and Tietkens Avenue who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour.

The incident is believed to have occurred near the Peter Sitzler Building between 6:10pm and 7:10pm.
