Call for information – Child injured – Eaton

Northern Territory Police are investigating after a child was struck by a vehicle yesterday morning in Eaton.

At 1:15pm, police were notified that a 1-year-old boy had been struck by a vehicle in a carpark at a business on Slade Court.

The child was later admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious and at this stage non-life threatening injuries.

Major Crash detectives and Darwin Traffic officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage from commercial businesses in the area.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “The child remains in hospital and thankfully his injuries are currently non-life threatening. Major Crash detectives have identified the male driver involved and he is assisting police with enquires.”

“Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the toddler struck by the vehicle, or has knowledge of the circumstances involved, to make contact on 131 444.”
