Be prepared this bushfire season

Fire and Rescue

NT Fire and Rescue Service is urging all residents and land owners to be prepared for the upcoming Top End Bushfire Season.

With the dry and hot weather conditions, it is important to take proactive measures to protect yourself, your family, and your property.

Some simple steps you can take include clearing any dry vegetation around your property, ensure fire breaks are maintained and in place, have a bushfire survival plan in place and prepare an emergency kit with essentials such as water, food, and first aid supplies.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Stephen Sewell said, "It is important to stay informed about fire conditions in your area.

"Keep an eye on weather reports and stay up to date with any warnings or alerts issued by NT Fire and Rescue Service and Bushfires NT."

Remember, bushfires can be unpredictable and dangerous. By taking these simple steps, you can help ensure the safety of yourself and those around you. Let's work together to prepare for the upcoming bushfire season.
