Northern Territory Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to an incident which occurred in Winnellie on Friday night.

Shortly after 6:30pm, police received a report of an alleged sexual assault of a woman, which took place at a business premises in Winnellie.

Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit attended a residence in Parap this afternoon and arrested the man.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said: “Police worked tirelessly to locate the offender, and would like to thank members of the public for their assistance.”

The man remains in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.
