Northern Territory Police have arrested a 25-year-old man after an alleged domestic violence incident in Ali Curung yesterday.

Around 6pm, police received reports that a 21-year-old woman had been allegedly assaulted by her partner with a blunt weapon. She was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital with head injuries and significant bruising to her legs.

The offender fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Detectives from the Tennant Creek Criminal Investigation Branch travelled to Ali Curung and assisted local police in investigating this matter.  The team arrested the man today and he remains in custody, expected to be charged later this evening.
