UPDATE: Charges – Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a further two youth in relation to dangerous driving in Alice Springs yesterday morning.

Investigations into the incident have found that two additional youths were in the stolen vehicle as it drove dangerously near and around Karnte Camp and in the Alice Springs CBD.

Two males, aged 14 and 16, were arrested this morning and have since been charged by detectives from Strike Force Viper with:

  • 2 x Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • 1 x Drive unlicensed
  • 1 x Drive manner dangerous

They are both expected to appear in court at a later date.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Evan Kelly said, “These arrests highlight the excellent work being done by the Strike Force Viper team to identify and place multiple offenders before court in a timely manner.”

“The prevention of further offending of this nature is paramount to ensuring safety within our community”.
