Northern Territory Police are on scene at a fatal plane crash in dense bushland near Bulman.

The single engine Cessna 210 aircraft left Gove about 8.30am on Saturday, December 24 but failed to arrive in Katherine.

A search conducted by NT Police and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority Response Centre yesterday located the wreckage of the plane about 230km north-east of Katherine.

The 22-year-old male pilot and a 43-year-old female passenger did not survive the crash.

Investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau are on their way to the Northern Territory to conduct a safety investigation into the accident.
