UPDATE #2 – Arrests – Unlawful entry – Berrimah

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested five people in relation to a stolen vehicle that was apprehended on Cox Peninsula Road earlier today.

The vehicle was believed to be involved in an unlawful entry at a business on the Stuart Highway at 4:00am this morning.

One adult and 4 youths, all males, were arrested a short time ago after a second cordon was established after the group allegedly fled the vehicle into nearby Berry Springs bushland.

Charges are expected to be laid later tonight.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Bland said “These arrests were the result of the fantastic work of Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit, Darwin Traffic members, Humpty Doo members and Daly River members.

“Two cordons were quickly set up in extremely challenging, wet conditions and as a result we have arrested all offenders and seized all stolen property.

“Police would also like to thank the members of public who provided vital information on the movements of the offenders.”
