Stolen vehicles - Alice Springs

Strike Force Viper are investigating an unlawful entry in which four vehicles were stolen in Alice Springs overnight.

Initial investigations indicate offenders unlawfully entered a council office on Bagot Street sometime between Sunday afternoon and 1am today.

Once inside the building, offenders rifled through the offices eventually locating and taking multiple sets of car keys.

Offenders used one of the vehicles to ram their way out of the secure compound, and a further three vehicles were stolen by unknown offenders.

General duties officers observed one of the stolen vehicles driving erratically along Bloomfield Street and successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device.

The vehicle stopped near Tom Brown roundabout and two youths, aged 10 and 14-years-old were apprehended.

The youths will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

All four vehicles have now been recovered. Police urge anyone with information which would assist with investigations into the unlawful entry and vehicle thefts, to report it via 131 444 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and reference PROMIS umber 10002626.
