Search for missing man - Milingimbi

Northern Territory Police are conducting a search and rescue operation on Milingimbi Island for a 31-year-old man who was last seen on Thursday 10 November.

Police were advised of the missing person on Saturday 12November. Following further enquiries a large search operation started on Monday.

Two helicopters are being utilised in the search together with a Utility Terrain Vehicle , Crocodile Island Rangers, local community and police from Jabiru, Water Police and the Territory Response Group.

Superintendent Drew Slape said “The entire 50 square kilometres of the island is being searched. That includes 50km of roads and tracks, and the helicopters are continually covering all areas of the island to give us the best chance of finding the man.”

The search and rescue operation remains ongoing.
