A 40-year-old male Northern Territory police officer has been served with a Notice to Appear for the following offence:

• Obtain benefit by deception

The officer has been directed to take leave and will appear in the Darwin Local Court on 4 October 2022.

The matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
