Death - Peppimenarti

Police

Northern Territory Police are investigating the death of a 36-year-male in Peppimenarti overnight.

Shortly before midnight police were notified that a male had been struck in the chest by an arrow.

The male was taken to the clinic where he was declared deceased.

An 18-year-old male is assisting police with inquiries.

Additional police resources have been sent to the community.

There are currently four detectives from Major Crime and two crime scene examiners.

Officers from the Territory Response Group are also there in a support capacity.

Police are working with elders, the local council and other Government agencies to maintain community safety.
