Charges – Unlawful entry – Rapid Creek

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth and an adult for an unlawful entry at a business in rapid Creek on Sunday.

Around 3am, police received a report that a group of offenders had unlawfully entered the licensed premises on Casuarina Drive. A quantity of alcohol was stolen and the offenders fled the scene.

General duties members arrested two males, aged 14 and 19, a short time later. The 14-year-old male allegedly assaulted a custody nurse during processing.   

Detectives from Strike Force Trident have since charged the 14-year-old with:

  • Unlawful entry - building
  • Damage property
  • Stealing
  • Assault a worker
  • Serious breach bail

He was remanded to appear in court today.

The 19-year-old was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry - building
  • Damage property
  • Stealing
  • Breach suspended sentence

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Humphries said, “Investigations into this incident are ongoing as Strike Force Trident work to identify the remaining offenders.

“Anyone with information, particularly dash-cam footage, is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference 10107361.”
