Charges – Aggravated robbery – Karama

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested four people in relation to a robbery in Karama earlier this month.

At around 11pm Sunday 2 January, police received reports that a woman had been robbed by a group of four individuals as she walked through MullaMulla Park. The group allegedly pushed her to the ground and stole a number of small items before fleeing the scene. The victim received minor injuries.

Detectives arrested a 14-year-old girl last night in relation to the incident and she has since been charged with aggravated robbery.

She was bailed to appear in court on 17 January 2022.

Serious Crime detectives arrested a further three females, aged 16, 17 and 32, this morning. All are expected to be charged with aggravated robbery today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, “Police will not tolerate this sort of violent behaviour against members of our community.

“We will continue to work relentlessly to ensure we do everything possible to put these offenders before the courts.”
