Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following an alleged indecent assault that occurred in Parap today.

Shortly after 5am, a woman was walking along the Stuart Highway, when she was approached by an unknown man.

The woman briefly engaged with the man before continuing to walk towards Parap Road, where the man grabbed the woman from behind. A struggle has occurred before the pair fell to the ground and the man indecently assaulted the woman.

Nearby witnesses intervened and the offender fled towards Parap Road.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, wearing a red and black shirt with red shorts.
