Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a Transit Safety Officer was assaulted earlier this week.

At 9:20pm on Monday 21 November, the officer had removed three males from bus 198 at a stop on Vanderlin Drive for disorderly behaviour.

One of the males allegedly threw an object at the Transit Officer, striking him in the head and causing a laceration.

The Serious Crime Squad is investigating the incident.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Day said “No one deserves to be assaulted as they go about their job.

“Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10180888. You can also make a report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
