Northern Territory Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in relation to property offences that occurred last month. 

On 22 September, Strike Force Trident commenced investigations into a series of fraudulent credit card transactions following a number of unlawful entries in the Fannie Bay area.

Police identified a vehicle, bearing stolen number plates, that was involved in a number of service station drive offs. The driver was identified and police continued their investigation to locate him.

On 27 September, police recovered the vehicle in Malak and identified it as being a stolen vehicle from The Gardens. A subsequent search of the vehicle located stolen property from a number of incidents.

Yesterday, Strike Force Trident received information as to the whereabouts of the man. The Dog Operations Unit assisted with cordoning off a residence in Alawa.

As members arrived, the man ran out the door and jumped the back fence, continuing to run towards Dripstone Road where Patrol Dogs Drax and Arnhem were waiting.

He was arrested without incident and has since been charged with:

• Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle

• Stealing x 5

• Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed x 7

• Possess schedule 2 less than traffickable quantity

The man is expected to appear before Darwin Local Court today.
