Arrest - Escape custody - Alice Springs

Police

A man who has been on the run from police since he escaped custody last week, has been arrested in Tennant Creek.

The 18-year-old man had been actively avoiding police for four days after escaping police custody in Alice Springs on Tuesday 10 May.

Police received information that the man had travelled from Alice Springs to Tennant Creek, and further inquiries led to the man being located and arrested.

During the arrest, it is alleged the man resisted the arresting police officers.

The man was transported to the Tennant Creek Watch House where he has been charged with one count of Resist police.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on Tuesday 17 May.
