Arrest - Drug driving charges - Alice Springs

A 34 year old man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court charged with traffic and drug driving related offences.

On Saturday 17 April, the man, who was disqualified from driving in February, was observed driving along Sadadeen Road.

Officers stopped the man for the purpose of a road side drug test, which returned a positive reading for cannabis.

It will be further alleged the man was found in possession for a less than traffickable quantity of Cannabis.

The man was taken to the Alice Springs Watch House for a secondary drug test where it is further alleged he returned a position reading for Methamphetamine, Amphetamine, THC and Cocaine.

The man was charged with one count each of Administer a dangerous drug to self, Possess schedule 2 drug – less than traffickable, Drive a motor vehicle while disqualified and Drive with prohibited drug in blood. The man was bailed to appear before court on 9 May.
