Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a domestic violence incident in Batchelor overnight.

Around 8pm, police received a report that a 27-year-old woman had been assaulted with a blunt weapon by her 29-year-old male partner.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The man was arrested earlier today and is expected to be charged with serious harm and engage in conduct that contravenes DVO.

Officer in Charge of the Domestic and Family Violence Unit Michael Budge said “This was a cowardly act and domestic violence, regardless of the severity, is never ok.
