Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a death in Leanyer yesterday.
At 5:30pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a woman at a residence in Leanyer wasn’t breathing.
St John Ambulance and Police arrived a short time later, where the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene was declared and a male suspect was arrested at around 2:00am at a residence in Rosebery.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Morrissey said “At this stage detectives are treating this incident as a homicide. It is believed the man and woman were known to one another.
“The man suffered injuries and is currently under police guard at Royal Darwin Hospital.
“More information will be released as investigations continue.”
