Northern Territory Police are investigating an aggravated assault in a Central Desert Region community overnight.
At around 6pm, police received a report that a 34-year-old man had been assaulted with an edged weapon and a 31-year-old female had been assaulted with a blunt weapon.
Both were conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A crime scene has been established and investigators are currently within the community.
Superintendent Michael Schumacher said, “Police understand there was a large number of people in the area at the time of the assaults and are currently speaking with witnesses.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444.”
