A 29-year-old woman has died following a fatal crash on Larapinta Drive, 16 kilometres west of Hermannsburg.

Yesterday, police receive a report of the crash at around 3:50pm.

The 29-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle that rolled after the driver lost control. The four other occupants were taken to Alice Springs Hospital for assessment with no significant injuries.

The driver was tested for alcohol and drugs and returned a negative result.   

Major Crash detectives travelled to the crash and a crime scene has been declared. The road is currently blocked to traffic and expected to be reopened around midday.

The full circumstances of the crash are being investigated and will be included in a report for the Coroner.

Police would like to remind both drivers and passengers of the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
