Road crash - Fatal - Howard Springs

A 74-year-old woman has died in hospital today following a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Howard Springs earlier this month.  

NT Police and emergency services attended the crash on Thursday 18 March 2021 and the woman was admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital.  She suffered internal injuries in the crash and had remained hospitalised since this time.

A 64-year-old woman is alleged to have caused the crash at 12.10pm by breaching a red light at the intersection of Stuart Highway and Lambrick Avenue.

Major Crash detectives have now taken carriage of the investigation and today seized a Mitsubishi sedan and a Ford sedan involved in the crash.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner, “The crash was captured by CCTV recording the intersection.  Bloods were obtained from both drivers which are pending forensic analysis to determine the presence of alcohol or drugs.”
