A Northern Territory Police Officer has been arrested and remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 15 November 2021.

The 34-year-old male officer will appear to answer the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth):

• Three counts of possess child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service under s474.22A
• Three counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material under s474.22
• Two counts of using a carriage service to solicit  child abuse material under s474.22
• One count of using a carriage service to groom another person to make it easier to procure persons under 16 years of age under s474.27AA

The matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
