Graduation of Recruit Constable Squad 141

Police

Northern Territory Police will welcome 26 new constables into the police force today.

During their six-month course, the recruits received training in legislation, defensive tactics, driver training, firearms, cultural awareness and engagement, search and rescue and addressing domestic violence.

The graduates were largely recruited within the Northern Territory, with eight members of the squad joining from interstate.

The graduates will take up duties in Alice Springs, Katherine and Yuendumu.

Commissioner Jamie Chalker APM said it is a proud day to welcome another group of people who have committed to a career serving and protecting the community.

“Our recruits are expected to meet a high standard during their training program and I thank the College staff for their hard work in developing our officers of the future.”

The graduation will be live streamed on the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page at 5.30pm today.
