The Major Crash Unit is investigating a hit and run overnight in which a man died.

About 12:45am, police received a report of an injured and unconscious man on Batten Road, Marrara. St John NT and Police attended, with paramedics declaring the 27-year-old man deceased.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Corey Borton said, “The man’s injuries appear consistent with having been struck by a vehicle. It is a dark road and it is possible the driver is not aware they hit a person. We are asking anyone who may have been in the area last night or has information to contact police.”
