COVID-19 – Notices to Appear issued

Police

Northern Territory Police today issued seven women with Notices to Appear for providing misleading information.

The seven women, all in their 20s and all travelling from Victoria, were initially granted approval to enter the Territory and undertake quarantine before taking up employment offers.

Incident Controller Acting Commander Hege Burns said, “Further investigation revealed these women had all provided misleading information about their supposed employment, and their approvals were revoked before they left Victoria”.

“When the regional Victoria hotspot was lifted, the women travelled to the NT where they were identified by police and each issued a Notice to Appear in Darwin Local Court on 13 October.”
