Charges – Drugs and firearms – Parap

Police

NT Police have charged a man with various drug and firearm charges following a search warrant executed in Parap yesterday.

Members from the Drug and Organised Crime Section Supply Disruption Team located:

  • 3 x gel blaster imitation firearms
  • A trafficable quantity of cannabis
  • A less than trafficable amount of methamphetamine
  • Prescription medication
  • A large sum of cash suspected of being from the supply of drugs
  • 3 x cannabis plants
  • 3 x mobile phones
  • 8 x ice pipes
  • Hydroponic growing equipment
  • 3 x sawfish rostrums

A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with:

  • Supply a dangerous drug
  • Possess tainted property
  • Possession of prohibited weapons
  • Possession of schedule 1 dangerous drugs
  • Possession of schedule 8 dangerous drugs
  • Cultivate cannabis

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Mathew Akers said, “We are considering further charges in relation to the sawfish rostrums.

“The realism of these imitation firearms is very concerning. NT Police will continue to target those who possess any type of prohibited weapons, and those who are involved in the supply of drugs in the community.”
