Northern Territory Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in relation to domestic violence offences.
The man, who is considered a high-risk offender, was apprehended in Gray on 19 January following a joint operation between Domestic Violence detectives, the Territory Response Group and General Duties officers.
He has been charged with:
- Deprivation of liberty
- Aggravated assault
- Choking, strangulation and suffocation
- Engage in conduct that contravenes a DVO
- Drive a motor vehicle whilst disqualified.
He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 22 February 2021.
Detective A/Senior Sergeant Warren Scott said, “To break the cycle of domestic, family and sexual violence police make it a priority to target repeat and high-risk offenders. No-one should have to live in fear of their partner or family member.”
