Charges – Domestic violence – Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a 41-year-old man following multiple domestic violence offences.

Police allege the man assaulted his ex-partner on at least three occasions between September 2020 and January 2021.

He was charged with:

  • 3 X aggravated assault
  • 3 X breach domestic violence offence
  • 3 X threats to kill
  • 1 X armed with offensive weapon
  • 1 X armed with controlled weapon
  • 1 X drive whilst disqualified

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on Monday 11 January 2021.

Senior Sergeant Megan Blackwell said, “Police continue to work hard to prevent domestic and family violence in the community. We encourage victims to reach out to support services that are available. Victims do not need to suffer alone, there are government and non-government agencies that can assist them in their situation. Help is available.
