Charges – Aggravated assault – Eaton

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to an assault in a carpark in Eaton on Wednesday.

At around 3pm, two males, aged 29 and 54, allegedly assaulted a 43-year-old man after he intervened in an altercation between the 54-year-old and a 49-year-old woman.

The 43-year-old was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition and has since been discharged.

Police arrested the 54-year-old at the scene and he has since been charged with:

  • 2 x Aggravated assault
  • 1 x Recklessly endangering serious harm

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said, “The 29-year-old remains outstanding and our investigations are continuing.

“The victim has attempted to intervene in what appears to be a domestic violence incident and he was himself assaulted. The behaviour of these two men is disgusting and police will find the second offender.

“Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 9856818.”
