Call for information – Suspicious fire – Coconut Grove

Northern Territory Police are calling for information relating a vehicle fire in the Coconut Grove on Saturday 18 September.

Residents at an accommodation complex in Floyd Court reported hearing a loud bang around 3:15am. A white MG3 was destroyed by fire.

Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier from Serious Crime said, “We believe a second scene and attempted arson may be related.”

Shortly after 8am, residents in Alstonia Street Nightcliff reported that two vehicles at an accommodation block had been tampered with, in an apparent attempt to set them alight.

“We have reviewed CCTV from the areas and are calling for anyone with information, CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward to assist our investigation.

“We would like in particular to speak to a person seen in the area walking on Dick Ward Drive towards Floyd Court, and also to the driver or occupants of a dark coloured sedan driving on Dick Ward Drive towards Musgrave Street.”
