Arrests – Stolen motor vehicle – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to a stolen vehicle in Karama yesterday.

At around 4:20pm, police received reports that a Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen from a residence on Bloodwood Circuit.

The vehicle was then spotted by CCTV operators at a service station in Karama before driving through the northern suburbs towards Jingili.

At around 4:50pm, police observed the vehicle stopping on Rindberg Street with four youths fleeing the scene.

Strike Force Trident detectives and the Dog Operations Unit arrested two youths on Rindberg Street with the remaining two youths arrested shortly after on Borella Circuit.

A 14-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle

He was remanded to appear in court today.

Another 14-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Drive motor vehicle whilst unlicensed
  • Drive manner dangerous
  • Unlawful entry – Building from an unlawful entry earlier that morning at a business premises in Marrara

He was bailed to appear in court on 10 January 2022.

The two 13-year-olds were charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle.

One was remanded to appear in court today while the other was bailed to appear in court on 10 January 2022.
