Arrest – Property offences – Nakara

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths, aged between 12 and 15, in relation to property offences in Nakara earlier this week.

On Tuesday night, it is alleged that the group unlawfully entered a residence in Nakara before taking two sets of vehicle keys and the victim’s credit cards.

Throughout the evening, the youths allegedly drove to multiple locations, using the victim’s credit cards to make purchases. The group were unsuccessful at purchasing fuel before they abandoned the vehicle in Brinkin and returned to the victim’s residence to allegedly steal the second vehicle.

The second vehicle was later abandoned in Wagaman.

Yesterday, Strike Force Trident detectives located the youths in Casuarina. At the time of the arrests, two youths were found to be in possession of the vehicle keys belonging to the victim.

The youths were conveyed to Palmerston Watch House and later released, where they will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
