A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to an indecent assault incident in Alice Springs at the weekend.

On Saturday 20 November at 11am police received a report that a female youth has been indecently assaulted by a man inside a shopping centre in the CBD.

Investigations by police lead to the identification of a man, who was located and arrested by police later that afternoon.

The man was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault – Indecent assault - child under 16 years, and was remanded in custody to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today.
