A 23-year-old man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on child exploitation and abuse charges.

The man is alleged to have produced child abuse material and engaged in online child exploitation offending via social media platforms.

Detectives from the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) travelled to a remote community in the southern region yesterdat, where they located and arrested the man.

He has been charged with;

• Solicit child abuse material
• Transmit indecent communication to child under 16years
• Procure person under 16 years of age for sexual activity
• Produce child abuse material x 3
• Transmit child abuse material x 3

The man has been remanded to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on Tuesday 16 November, 2021.
