Property offences – Central Australia

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged two youths, aged 12 and 13, following a number of recent property offences in a remote Central Australian community.

Superintendent Jody Nobbs said, “Additional officers had been sent to the community last week to support local police in their investigations. As a result, the two youths were arrested and there have been no further incidents since 25 December.

“Police have been conducting reassurance patrols and are working with stakeholders to ensure continued provision of services to the community.

“This recent spate of offending has been committed by a very small cohort of young people who have been identified and are being dealt with according to the law.”

The youths will appear in court at a later date.
