Liquor seized - Victoria Daly

Police

Northern Territory Police have seized a large quantity of liquor from an alcohol protected area.

At around 9:30am this morning, police apprehended and searched a vehicle destined for Wadeye, locating 24 x 1 litre bottles of rum.

Senior Sergeant Bradley Fox said, “The seizures are a result of information being provided by community members, in turn, this has reduced harm to vulnerable people.”

Over the past week, police members from Daly River, Peppimenarti and Wadeye have continued to intercept alcohol destined for remote communities.

As a result, police have seized a total of 155 litres of liquor from multiple vehicles.
