Just after 2.30am this morning, Northern Territory Police located a single vehicle rollover crash in Girraween. A Humpty Doo police patrol identified the crash scene on Power Road, about 600 metres south of Girraween Road. The driver was located ejected from the crashed vehicle. A passing motorist assisted police at the scene to check the surrounding area for other potential passengers while police provided first aid to the 30-year-old male driver. The white 2018 Toyota Landcruiser utility had rolled and come to rest on its side.
NT Fire & Rescue and St John Ambulance officers were called to assist however the man later died at the scene.
Detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit attended and investigated the crash through the night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “It’s apparent to us from interviewing residents in the area that the police patrol, travelling in the opposite direction, was on scene within a couple of minutes of the crash. We’re appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle travelling through Girraween prior to the crash, and any friends or family of the deceased familiar with his movements last night to contact police.”
