The Commissioner of Police and CEO of Fire and Emergency Services Jamie Chalker takes pleasure in announcing Murray Smalpage has been appointed to the position of Deputy Commissioner.

Currently the Assistant Commissioner of Professional Standards with the Western Australia Police Force, Mr Smalpage’s career includes the delivery of forensic science services, state intelligence, and significant operational accountabilities including the Assistant Commissioner and Commander for regional Western Australia.

He has led a sworn police force of 1500 officers, in excess of 100 staff and has been responsible for the management of 124 police stations.

Commissioner Jamie Chalker says Mr Smalpage brings extensive experience in remote, regional and CBD policing, accountabilities in professional standards, strategic abilities and demonstrated potential to develop capability across all areas of the Northern Territory Police Force.

“I congratulate Mr Smalpage on his appointment. His experience and personal style will be an asset to the agency.”

Mr Smalpage will commence his new role on 24 February 2020, joining Michael Murphy APM as Deputy Commissioner.
