Northern Territory Police have issued two infringement notices for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011.

On Tuesday 5 May 2020, a 20-year-old man breached his mandatory quarantine by leaving his hotel in Darwin on the same day he checked in.

A 34-year-old woman breached her mandatory quarantine by leaving her hotel in Alice Springs on two separate occasions on Saturday 2 May and Tuesday 5 May.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers continue to undertake quarantine compliance checks to ensure people are completing their 14 days quarantine.

7,761 compliance checks have now been completed and 46 fines issued.
