Northern Territory Police have issued two infringement notices for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environmental Health Act 2011.

A 20-year-old man has been issued an infringement notice after leaving his accommodation in Darwin on multiple occasions. This is the second infringement notice the man has received. As a result, the Deputy Chief Health Officer issued a direction for the man to complete the remainder of his quarantine at the Howard Springs Quarantine Facility.

A 30-year-old man also breached his mandatory quarantine when he left his Darwin accommodation. He will complete the remainder of his quarantine at Howard Springs Quarantine Facility.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers continue to undertake quarantine compliance checks to ensure people are completing their 14 days quarantine.

9042 compliance checks have now been completed and 48 fines issued.
