Charges – Aggravated robbery – Araluen

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged two male youths following an armed robbery at a service station in Araluen on Friday 20 March 2020.

Police allege two youths wearing face masks entered the business, threatened staff with weapons, and stole approximately $1000 cash and a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco.

The youths, aged 15 and 16, were arrested following a search warrant at a residence on Sunday 22 March. Police recovered tobacco, cigarettes, $340 cash, face masks and gloves.

Both youths were charged with:

  • aggravated robbery
  • possess offensive weapon
  • possess prohibited weapon
  • damage to property.

The youths were bailed to appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today.
