Charges - Aggravated assault - Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to an incident in Darwin City yesterday.

Police allege that around 3pm the man was on Briggs Street and approached two men, both known to him, and assaulted them with a bladed weapon.

A 27-year-old man received serious injuries where he sustained a collapsed lung and remains in Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.

A 35-year-old man received minor facial injuries and was discharged from RDH last night.

Police apprehended the alleged offender yesterday afternoon just after 5.00pm. He has been charged with:

  • Cause serious harm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Going armed in public

He has been remanded and will appear in Darwin Local Court on 3 February 2021.
