Call for witnesses - Assault - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses following an assault in Alice Springs overnight.

At around 8pm, a 30-year-old female passenger has jumped out of a moving vehicle before the male driver has pulled over and allegedly assaulted her.

A woman travelling in the vicinity has witnessed the incident and intervened. The woman has assisted the female victim before taking her to Alice Springs Hospital.

Police would like in particular to speak with this woman.

The incident is believed to have occurred on the side of the Stuart Highway, south of Alice Springs near the cemetery.
